Anchorage Maternity Photographer | Moss and Myrrh Photography
Confession: I don't really like maternity photography. Well, until I started this lifestyle/documentary journey, that is. When I mostly posed and only offered studio work, I honestly DREADED maternity sessions. Not what you expected to hear, huh? Haha! I like to keep things blunt around here. I didn't really start to enjoy maternity work until I could let go of the posing and just let my clients "be". You see, there's only so much one can do with a pregnant mama to be. I can only make that heart shape on your stomach so many times (I will NEVER do that again). I can only make you pop that front leg and cradle your belly for so many poses. After awhile, it gets to be a bit too repetitive for me. I actually stopped offering maternity all together for about a year. I couldn't force myself to love something I didn't.
Now though, now I LOVE it. Now, all I do is follow you around documenting your belly, you loving on your family, this sweet (and very shoot) season of your life as a family of 2, 3, 4, whatever. Many choose to skip maternity photography in favor of waiting for baby to arrive. I encourage you to at least consider having your pregnancy documented. This is a season of limbo, you're in-between being as you are and bringing another little life into your family. It will never be the same again.
